Seeing the Body (CRIAW) Montreal Getting the WORD out:
Arts development for social action

Supported through the Canadian Research Institute on the Advancement of Women (CRIAW)

Getting the Word out was a photo-voice project with a group of older teen girls in Montreal around sexuality, AIDS and the body. The intent of this project was to explore how young women can become producers of message making around HIV prevention through still photography. This research project uses a participatory / action-based framework to involve young women exploring constructions and conflicts around sexuality, gender and AIDS through discussion groups and black and white photography.
